HSD and Infosys starting cooperation

On 7 November, Indian software giant Infosys Ltd. celebrated their first German subsidiary in Düsseldorf. HSD signed an agreement for comprehensive cooperation in research and teaching.

Infosys, with its headquarters in Bangalore, India, provides consulting and IT services worldwide and is a global leader in next-generation digital services – i.e. artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things or virtual as well as augmented reality.
The new Digital Innovation Centre will serve as interface between local and regional industry on the one hand and educational institutions on the other hand. Infosys wants to work closely with HSD as well as Otto Beisheim School of Management to fight the current shortage of skilled IT professionals. The cooperation will include research projects, the development of new educational programmes and participation in the existing internship programme InStep. The new innovation centre is part of Infosys’ global network of digital and design hubs.

Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Vomberg, President of HSD, is delighted to start the cooperation: ‘We have found an experienced partner in Infosys and are looking forward to working together on innovative solutions for professional practice!’

Pravin Rao, Chief Operating Officer at Infosys, added: ‘Düsseldorf is one of the pioneering cities in terms of technological innovations – providing highly qualified professionals and strong ties between industry and education. It is an unmatched strategic location!’

Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia for economy, innovation, digitalisation and energy Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart is also thrilled and emphasised the economic importance of Indo-German cooperation.
