Completion of integrated HSD climate protection concept

With our integrated climate protection concept, we have developed a programme of action determining the central goal of climate neutrality by 2030.

In this context, climate neutrality is defined as a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80 % compared to 2018 – in line with the goals which the Federal Republic of Germany has set itself for the year 2050.
For this purpose, we have drawn up our greenhouse gas balance in a comprehensive participation process analysing energy, mobility, waste, water, nutrition and products (procurement). We have worked out potentials for reducing and avoiding greenhouse gases and documented a comprehensive programme of measures to exploit these potentials.

By implementing this programme of action, we will

  • take an important step towards reducing the impact of climate change on campus to provide attractive conditions for students, teachers and staff in the future,
  • reduce our carbon footprint and
  • even reduce energy costs.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding our climate protection concept, please send an e-mail to: klimaschutz@hs-duesseldorf.de.
