New vice president: Prof. Dr. Olexiy Khabyuk

The HSD Board of Management welcomes its new member: Prof. Dr. Olexiy Khabyuk, now vice president for academic, student and international affairs. He was proposed by an internal search commission and elected on 8 July 2020 by the University Election Assembly, consisting of members of the University Council and the University Senate. He is taking over from his predecessor Prof. Dr. Roland Reichardt, who has been vice president for eight years.
 
Prof. Dr. Khabyuk has taught business administration at the Faculty of Business Studies since the summer semester 2013, particularly the topics of communication and multimedia. A Ukrainian national, he was born in 1981, completed his Diplom degree at University of Cologne in 2004, his doctoral degree at Ukrainian Free University of Munich (UFU) in 2007 and his habilitation on the topic of Media Economics as an Academic Discipline in Ukraine at the same university in Munich in 2012. During his time at the Institute for Broadcasting Economics from 2006 to 2012, he worked on various reports related to the broadcasting contribution introduced in 2013. His research focuses on new media genres and their implications on business models, sustainability and careers in marketing.
