German Language Classes for Refugees
As part of the Programme "NRWege ins Studium" (Integration of Refugees at Universities in North Rhine-Westphalia), Hochschule Düsseldorf has been offering free preparatory German language classes at level B2 and C1 for refugees since October 2017.
About the programme
The Institute for International Communication (IIK) will be responsible for the implementation of the course programme.
At the beginning of the programme, participants take a placement test at IIK and receive lessons according to their learning level.
The courses take place mainly in the mornings, the weekly amount of lessons is 25 hours.
The programme lasts approximately 10 months. Upon successful completion, participants receive a language certificate.
How can you apply? You need the following documents:
- the completed and signed application form (download here)
- a copy of your residence permit
- copies of your school-leaving certificate and (if applicable) university degree / transcript of records
- a copy of your highest German language certificate
- a certification of your completed integration course

If you prefer to hand in the documents in person, you can do so Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00 at the Service Desk of the Student Support Centre, Münsterstr. 156, building 2, first floor).
