Joint support for Chernivtsi: HSD and HHU hand over major IT equipment donation

​​Hochschule Düsseldorf – University of Applied Sciences (HSD) and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) are supporting their Ukrainian partner university in Chernivtsi with urgently needed IT equipment. To collect the donations, Dr. Taras Hrynivskyj, lecturer at the local chair of journalism, and Serhij Lukanjuk, Head of the International Office, travelled from Ukraine to Düsseldorf in person – by car for the entire journey of around 1,700 kilometres. Their determination to go on this demanding and dangerous trip underlines the importance of the cooperation and the deep trust within the university partnerships.

The guests also took special Christmas decorations back to Chernivtsi: At the university-wide Christmas celebration, HSD staff created individually designed Christmas tree ornaments with warm greetings and personal messages for colleagues in Chernivtsi.

The administrative processing of the HSD donation is handled via the institute for German culture and history of south-eastern Europe (IKGS) at LMU Munich. HSD would like to express its sincere thanks to the institute for its careful and smooth support, which enabled the transfer of the donations in this form.
