50 years of HSD – incredible atmosphere during celebration on campus

On 14 May 2022, Hochschule Düsseldorf – University of Applied Sciences (HSD) could finally celebrate its 50th anniversary – and the response exceeded everything all organisers had hoped for: Several thousand people came to celebrate during the day and well into the night, creating a unique atmosphere on campus and enjoying wonderful weather.

The HSD faculties offered guided tours through laboratories and workshops and presented their subject areas and current projects. In the evening, the campus turned into a festival site: Various bands from the region provided a broad musical programme and created the best atmosphere for the audience.

During an official ceremony hosted by HSD press spokesperson Simone Fischer, HSD President Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Vomberg welcomed Mayor of Düsseldorf Dr. Stephan Keller as well as various other prominent guests.

In addition, the faculties organised several receptions for alumni as well as graduation celebrations which could not take place any sooner due to the corona restrictions.

The university's various studios and laboratories could also be visited in detail throughout the day and offered interesting insights into their specialist areas. Here, for example, you can see a demonstration in the Virtual Studio of the faculty Media.
