Driving ideas for a digital society and AI research: Dr. Paul-Otto Faßbender Stiftung funds HSD research project

HSD receives funding of €165,000 from Dr. Paul-Otto Faßbender Stiftung. Three projects are being supported, focusing on digital participation, smart environments and the use of artificial intelligence in research: digital divides and political polarisation as a challenge to democratic structures in North Rhine-Westphalia; HSD as a real-world laboratory for smart environments; and AI in research – increasing efficiency and innovative capacity. With these projects, HSD is strengthening its profile as a driver of digital transformation, social participation and responsible AI research.

“The funding enables us to address key issues of the digital transformation, inclusion and scientific innovation in a practical way,” says Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Vomberg, HSD President. “We thank Dr. Paul-Otto Faßbender Stiftung for its trust and the constructive partnership. The three projects strengthen HSD’s research, knowledge transfer and societal impact in key fields of our time.”
