Many study programmes at Hochschule Düsseldorf have additional specific requirements, such as an internship, an entrance exam, English language proficiency or a minimum GPA.

Internship
Some programmes at HSD require an internship or practical experience completed in a field relevant to the respective study programme.
When you need to present proof of the internship for your desired study programme, as well as information about the required duration and field in which the internship needs to be completed, can be found on the website of each study programme.
Please note: The internship certificate has to be presented as a certified copy. In case the certificate is written in a foreign language, it needs to be translated into German or English by a sworn, state-approved translator.

Aptitude test
Passing an artistic-design aptitude test is required from all applicants for study programmes in Architecture and Design, as well as for the study programme "Audio & Video" in order to be able to apply.
Please note: Registration for the aptitude test happens directly at HSD and before the official application process.
Registration deadlines may vary. They usually end between February and May. Registration for the aptitude tests has to be done via the online-application portal of HSD.

English language requirements
All programmes at HSD are taught in German, with the exception of the M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
An English language certificate is required for some programmes, as individual courses are occasionally taught in English.
The exact language proficiency requirements and recognized certificates can be found on the study programme website or in the examination regulations.
Minimum GPA
Many Master's programmes at HSD require a minimum GPA from your Bachelor's degree.
