The new exchange students started their semester abroad with a welcome breakfast on 10 September 2018. Lea Pöter, who is responsible for incoming students, organized the kick-off event of the orientation weeks with the support of the tutors.
After a short welcome, the 75 new incoming students from 28 different countries had the opportunity to socialise with each other while enjoying coffee and sandwiches.
As always, the orientation weeks are well filled: Besides administrative matters, the programme includes German courses, a workshop on intercultural awareness, campus and library tours and, last but not least, the introductions to the faculties. Additionally, an exciting cultural programme is offered. This term's highlights are the 'Büdchen'-Tour (a tour through Unterbilk's kiosks), which can be offered in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network Düsseldorf, and an excursion to the Drachenfels.
The International Office's tutors assist the exchange students with all organisational matters and help with questions about studying at HSD and about daily life. The International Office would like to thank all tutors for their commitment and support!
Once again, we cordially welcome our exchange students and wish them an exciting and successful stay!
