What Do I need to consider when applying via eCampus?

Further information on applying at HSD:

Application via eCampus

eCampus is the application portal of HSD.

Applications from applicants with international qualifications are normally submitted via uni-assist.
In a few exceptional cases, international prospective students may apply directly to HSD via the eCampus portal, for example:

  • You hold a German school-leaving certificate and are applying for a Bachelor’s programme at HSD
  • You hold a German Bachelor’s degree and are applying for a Master’s degree programme at HSD
  • You are a German national and your school-leaving certificate has been recognised by the district government (including GPA transfer)

Please check our website  Application procedure for international applicants to find out in which cases you can apply directly to HSD and in which cases you must submit your application via uni-assist.

1. Application procedure

You should submit your application online via eCampus during the relevant application period, whether you are applying for the first semester or a later semester.

Applicants for Bachelor’s degree programmes with restricted admission (NC) should please note the information regarding hochschulstart.de (DoSV).

Information on applying for a higher semester can be found here (only available in German).

Important:
If the district government (Bezirksregierung) has officially accredited your school certificates (including GPA transfer) or if you are applying for a higher semester, please state in the HSD-online application portal that you have received a German university entrance qualification
(Germany/NRW/Düsseldorf). This will be corrected during enrolment.

Please upload the district government's accreditation when submitting your application.
You can have the certificate of recognition checked in advance by the admissions office.

2. Application documents

You will be informed during the online application process which documents need to be submitted.

Applicants for a second German university degree (Zweitstudium) need to send their certificates and a motivation letter.
Applicants for a higher semester need to send an up-to-date certificate of enrolment, which states the current study semester and study programme.

Certificates written in a foreign language must be translated into German by a sworn translator. All documents have to be uploaded to your HSD eCampus account.

3. Application fee

The application via eCampus is free of charge.
